Samsung Matte Paintings
Rupert Ray won a pitch to create animation for Freestate, London. Freestate designed the event for Samsung, envisaging a half hour long experience for each visitor. Rupert Ray created over 2 minutes of animation which would act as a moment of calm in a sea of flickering consumer electronic messages. The resulting project was the largest animation they have ever made.
I was lucky enough to be employed to do some matte paintings for the animation and below are the eight I produced based on the senior matte painter's work (Emile Hardy).
